Hot Spot for Creative Artist Blacksmiths

Teme Valley Tractors are pleased to supply Air Products gases to many of the regions talented artist blacksmiths who are producing beautiful metal creations in the area and beyond.


Powys based Chris Yeomans is one of Britain’s leading artist-blacksmiths, exhibiting and undertaking commissions on a national and international basis. He recently made a four metre high Giraffe sculpture for Saudi Arabia and is work has been included in collections as far afield as Hong Kong and United States as well as in period windows in National Trust properties, Hampton Court, Windsor Castle and the Tower of London. He is one the longest-standing exhibitors at the Surry based Fire and Iron Gallery which is known across the world as the place to see and buy the very best metal artworks by leading international artists working with iron. More locally Chris’s work can be seen in Clear View Stoves in Shropshire where he makes fire companion sets.


He uses a range of techniques with Air Products gases and explains “Some sculptures need a lot of gas with 100 BTH nozzle oxyacetylene for heating the metal and bending it.” he also uses a TIG welder on smaller more intricate art work and MIG welder for more industrial larger projects he goes on to say “The Air Products agent is always very accommodating and comes up with the best price and the Teme Valley Tractors are team are friendly and provide a good service – they are always quick and efficient”

Teme Valley Tractors are also pleased to supply gas to Spike the Blacksmith whose forge is located in Llanbrynmair Mid Wales.  She began her artistic blacksmithing business in 2003 and as her reputation has grown, so has the demand for her unusual and individual pieces of work. As well as a huge variety of commissions including, fencing and gates with flying sculptured creatures attached in them, furniture, sculptures, window and door furniture, interior and exterior work. Spike also gets involved in local festivals  and exhibits her fire sculptures at Landed festival. Spike teaches blacksmithing and welding courses at her workshop and runs group artistic blacksmithing workshops at Mid Wales Art Centre Caesws in the summer.

Recently Spike has worked with Arts connection and created a seven metre dragon for the Llanfyllin School.  Her work can be seen at The Dragons bar Plas Dolguog, Machynlleth, in the Community Gardens at the Plas in Machynlleth and various smaller work is displayed in the Oriel Seren, an art gallery in Machynlleth.

Both artists use Air Products gases from Teme Valley Tractors for their creations. Spike says “I am very impressed with the quality and safety of the Air Products gases product having changed to Air Products a few years ago after having a leak from a bottle from my previous supplier”
